Our visual experience is shaped by the environment and by the internal dynamics of brain activity. My PhD research aims to understand how rhythmic oscillations in neural excitability influence the computations that underlie visual behaviour. My main tools are tools human scalp EEG, careful stimulus/experimental design, and simulation-based modelling of what it is that neurons do (which can be a lot of interesting things).
