Current research
My research uses techniques from both cognitive neuroscience and cognitive neuropsychology to explore the systems used to distribute attention across space. I am particularly interested in studying the cognitive mechanisms underlying visuospatial neglect, a common cognitive impairment in which patients fail to perceive one side of space. My past research has helped improve diagnosis of post-stroke neglect, develop open-access lesion-mapping tools, and further understanding of the neglect syndrome. My current research aims to determine how perceptual uncertainty information is used to facilitate spatial attention and to employ network-based lesion mapping techniques to identify the correlates of neglect.
