Current research My PhD project aims to investigate the functional architecture of the brain and how it can reorganize to produce intelligent human behavior. To do this I measure participants’ brain response to tricky problem solving tasks using functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) and electroencephalography (EEG). Using these techniques and approaches we hope to further our understanding of the neural underpinnings of human intelligence, as well the development of targeted interventions to help learning in individuals with low or impaired reasoning ability.
