Research while in the Mattingley Lab

I am currently researching the impact of stroke on visual spatial attention using fMRI and MVPA decoding. My PhD work investigated alertness as a modulator of spatial attention and the associated implications for rehabilitation of spatial neglect. Using EEG to measure alertness during healthy sleep onset, healthy right-handers demonstrate a rightward shift in auditory spatial attention not dissimilar to chronic spatial neglect patients. I am further researching the mechanisms underlying these drowsiness related shifts in spatial attention with healthy sleep onset. In addition, I am using rTMS to identify regions involved in neglect-like biases in auditory spatial attention.
